Butter cookies make pretty holiday cookies that taste amazing! I use a cookie press to create pretty shapes. Show off and make holiday cookies that are almost too pretty to eat! This recipe makes 5 dozen glorious cookies with only 5 ingredients.
Be sure to use colored sugar sprinkles in red and green, perfect for the holidays!
I used the Wilton Pro Cookie Press and it produced perfectly shaped cookies each time!
If you need more than one type of cookie, consider making pecan cookies along with the butter cookies. Use the egg whites from the butter cookies in the pecan cookie recipe.
Butter Cookies
Servings: 5 dozen
Ingredients
- 6 egg yolks beaten
- 1/2 lb butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 1/2 cups flour
Instructions

Cream butter in a stand mixer

Add sugar to creamed butter

Add egg yolks to butter and sugar

Add flour

When combined, fill cookie press and press out cookies.

Sprinkle with colored sugar crystals

Bake at 350 for 8-9 minutes
